Oh dear. Forgot all about the blog until now! Let's see...Aubrey took her entire bottle at 9 last night, then again today at 12 and 3! Woohoo! Maybe she's finally getting the hang of it. I've found that the formula needs to be just about as thick as wallpaper paste for her to like it...thank goodness rice cereal is cheap.
Adam's outside working in the yard, so Aubrey and I walked around with him for a while and then sat in the sun (well, I sat in the sun and she was covered up). Murphy barked at us the entire time because he wanted to sit with us, but I don't think Aubrey's quite ready to play with him yet.

To have a mom who's never been fond of pink, Aubrey sure makes it look cute. |
So...Aubrey has taken her last 2 feedings from the bottle as well, and both in about 6 or 7 minutes. Holy cow! She went from taking only about half to taking the whole thing at a record setting pace. That seems really fast to me, but what do I know? I've asked around to my NICU nurse friends and am waiting on their responses.

Following Adam around the yard while he worked |
I've never been fond of pink, either, and yet somehow it keeps creeping into our house and slowly taking over. Funny how that happens. And yes, Aubrey does look adorable in pink! Not that I'm surprised. :)
ReplyDeleteY'all have a cool yard.
pink is just about the only color they have in teeny baby girl clothes. and the irony--i'm wearing the only shirt i own that has pink on it in that picture. :) we love our yard--it's about 3 acres of mostly woods with a little grass thrown in. i see in our future adam making aubrey help him pick up pine cones and her rolling her eyes. :)
DeleteYou never know; she might think it's fun! My parents have two large sweetgum trees that shed seed pods that look like sea urchins with stems. (We call them "dingleballs," for reasons unknown). Anyway, my brother and I thought it was super-fun to collect them out of the yard, and now my kids have the same opinion.
DeleteIf you're tired of pink, we've got some orange and brown onesies Selah's outgrown that we'd be happy to send you; they're newborn size, and definitely on the smaller end of that.
