12 noon

So maybe we figured out the  feeding pump issue.  It's worked fine for me both times so far this morning.  We're headed to the pediatrician later and hopefully the little miss has gained an ounce or two.

Our doctor from our first NICU called today to check on us.  He asked if my heart beat a little faster when I saw that number come up on my phone; it did, actually, even after all this time and knowing that Aubrey was here and not there!  He just wanted to see how things were going.  I really love them over at University--we're going to have to take Aubrey over there in a while (when flu/RSV/cold season is over) and show her off and see everyone.

She's taken the bottle a little better the last day or two.  She'll take about half of it then it's like she realizes she has food in her belly and quits.  I guess that satisfies her enough that she figures it's not worth it to do any more work.

6p.m.

Aubrey's 4 month (hahahaha--technically 4 months, I guess) well-baby check went just fine today.  She has gained 4 ounces since Wednesday and is up to 8lb 3oz and measures 19.5 inches long.  The doctor was glad she had gained some weight and seemed happy with how she is doing.  She's going to refer us to a physical therapist to help with her only wanting to sleep on that one side of her head.  She said the muscles on that side have tightened and they'll show us stretches to do to help loosen them and help her turn her head to the other side (so she won't have a flat toaster head!).

When we went to check out at the doctor's office and set up our next appointment (forever and ever going to 5 doctors it seems like), the lady checking us out looked at me and said, "wow, you look great for having a baby who's only a few weeks old."  I guess she saw Aubrey's due date, maybe, and not her birth date?  Who knows.  Anyway, I said, "thanks, but here's the thing..."  Then I proceeded to explain the whole 16 week early thing.  I got the same thing from her that I usually get: the mouth drops open, there's some stuttering, and then a "wow."  Then she asked to see Aubrey, so I gladly showed her off. :)

Adam's dad  came by to see Aubrey for the first time since she's been home.  I think he was pretty happy to see her. :)
