She had another quiet night. The nurse said she noticed her gagging several times, but she does that. She was going to ask the doctor about leaving her on the AR (thickened) formula for her tube feedings. I asked about that yesterday and the nurse practitioner said they changed her to one formula to make feedings easier, but if that new formula is not as good for her reflux I'd rather her be on two different ones. We'll see.

awake and hungry! |
6p.m.
Well, they changed her formula back to the AR in her feeding tube since it seemed she was gagging more. She did fine today, no spitting up. The doctor came by and said she thought that the surgeon needed to reconsider the reflux surgery--she said if the reflux was bad enough it would make bottle feeding tougher. But, the surgeon came by later and said that he thought if Aubrey did well bottle feeding already and that the rice formula was working that she wouldn't need the surgery. *sigh* I guess they'll talk to each other and decide something. The nurse said she didn't seem to care very much for the bottle this morning, but she liked it last night...maybe it was because I fed her last night. ;)
She got super duper fussy about 5:30--her feeding was supposed to start at 6. She came the closest I've ever heard her come to an actual cry. Once her food had gone in for a few minutes she calmed down. She's like her daddy in that she gets grumpy when she's hungry.
I'm planning on being at the NICU early tomorrow morning so I can do her bottle feeding at 9a.m. :)
