We got to the NICU and spoke to the dr on shift today. She has had no other episodes since the one at shift change last night. And that one they just suctioned the milk out of her mouth and she was ok. No other issues through out the night as she slept.
Her lung X-rays were good. No signs of any aspirations in her lungs and they are developing well. I tried to stake her down on a percentage that her lungs are operating on and she was unsure. They changed her oxygen to a lower flow to a 1/4 of a liter of flow. It can be turned all the way down to a 1/16 of a liter of flow. Right now it's giving her fewer and lighter puffs. They are trying to wean her off of it.
They are also giving her the caffeine again, 30 ml once a day. Yay Starbucks!
The formula is up to 48 ml per serving, once every three hours over an hour.
The episodes seem to be coming after the feeding is done, or nearly done. So now they have to determine if she is swallowing correctly. It seems the reflux sends the milk up and then she is unable to swallow and breathe at the same time causing the gag which stops the heart. They will be performing a swallow test and then go from there. The wrap surgery will not help the swallowing problem. So if we can identify the exact problem we can get the exact solution.
We are doing ok. Kinda tough leaving the hospital and meeting new nurses but we are making it. So far we the nurses have been wonderful explaining everything to us and being so kind. One nurse has been to Africa like Keli has and another is the wife of an officer I know in Aiken.
This weekend kinda snuck up on me. Usually on my days off I have multiple things planned and usually too much for one day. But I have had so much time off that I have nothing planned but spend time with my family. It's nice.
Yesterday I was talking to someone about Aubrey's flat head. In thinking about it, we determined she has more of her daddy in her than we ever thought. For the past several months her head has been turned so she can watch the door. Way to think tactical!

Little miss did well today. I don't think she even de-satted once...well, the monitor said she did, but it also said something was wrong with her pulse-ox meter that's attached to her foot. So really, she was fine. The three of us just got to hang out for a while today, and that was nice. Adam read to us for a while, she took a nap, I wanted to take a nap, etc. :) We got her bassinet turned around so that maybe she'll flip her head and lie on the non-flat side for a while to even things out.
