Well, I figured it was coming, and the nurses told us it would happen...Aubrey broke her episode-free streak and had two early this morning. Poor baby. She's trying hard to be a big girl, but she just gets tired sometimes. She's up to 5lb 8oz (big jump!), but she's still gooey in the middle.

No more episodes today as of when I left the NICU at 5:30p.m. She came close when I was holding her--her sats dropped but her heart rate didn't drop too low, thankfully. She de-satted several times, but was ok overall. Adam's mom came and held her for the first time.

The doctor stopped by to see how she was doing, and he said he knew we were disappointed that she had 2 episodes this morning, but that he had expected it. Really, I had expected it too--I didn't think that she would just cease and desist with the episodes all of a sudden. He asked how she was doing with her sucking--she's been working on a pacifier and knows what to do with it and will suck on my finger if I put it near her mouth. He said they're thinking about leaving the transpyloric tube and trying her with a bottle at the same time to stretch her stomach little by little instead of putting entire feedings straight into her stomach (basically what we asked about doing weeks ago). He's just not sure when they'll start trying that yet. Hopefully she'll have a few more good days in a row so we can give it a whirl.
